A commensal bacteria push to strengthen your immune system?  Huh?? …. What?? … Yes!

Definitely not something you're going to see or hear a lot about on the news. 

I've done a couple of crazy things in my lifetime but eating 4 grapefruits and 4 bananas in one day might be near the top of the list.  :) 

These past 14 months have reaffirmed much of what I've been reading for the past 10 years; if you really want to give yourself the best odds of preventing harmful pathogens from entering your body and aging as gracefully as possible, you should prioritize the maintenance of your mammallian, innate, and adaptive immune systems.  Basically, focus just as much on how you look and feel on the inside as you do on the outside.

After my wife (Dr. Jill) read and shared the book, "The Immunity Code: the new paradigm for real health and radical anti-aging" by Joel Greene, we'll be dedicating the month of May to immune-centric nutrition. Aside from eating what I would normally consider to be some pretty exotic combinations of ingredients and frequency of meals, it looks like it will be a strategic complement and healthy boost to our existing lifestyle.   

I'll report back at the end of the month and let you know if I'm more confident that I'm going to live to 120 years old or that I ended up in the hospital for an overdose of fruits, berries, nuts, and arugula.
